Nintendo might have put some effort into making retro classics into 3D, but it's nowhere near as cool as this new fan-made emulator, 3DNES.
The browser-based emulator takes NES games and, using some neat graphical/depth effects makes the whole thing look like a sort of cardboard diorama.
As it's been made as an emulator like this, it's capable of playing any game you throw at it - to varying levels of success, of course.
It's imperfect, full of graphical glitches, stutters and all the sort of things you'd expect with such an ambitious project. But, really, that hardly matters - but look how cool it is:
You can use the emulator right now, though it currently only functions in Firefox - so no Chrome, Edge, Opera or whatever.
You also need a direct link to a NES ROM for the emulator to use, so go looking for your 30-year-old cartridge-based games to get started.
