A YouTuber has released a video showcasing his Unreal 4 engine reimagining of Ash Ketchum's bedroom from Pokemon, created to celebrate 2016's 20th anniversary of the series.

We thought we were done with seeing games recreated in Unreal 4, especially when they have a chance of being unceremoniously cancelled, but this is just a cool tour through a familiar scene, albeit with some extra touches.

See the video, from creator Jarlan Perez, below:

Incredibly, it only took Perez four days in his spare time to create the scene in Unreal 4. He explains in the video description that the announcement of Pokemon Sun and Moon inspired him to get the project done.

"Watching the Sun and Moon announcement trailer really inspired me to finish this project," he said. "I owned every single one of the Gameboys that they showed in the trailer and the main reason was to play Pokemon."

Talking about the design process, Perez explains how he put a modern twist on the room, rather than just creating it as it was in the original. For instance, Ash's red hat, as it's shown in the video, is from a later point in the series, and he also used some creative license to make the Pokedex software appear as if it would if running on a real computer.

Four days well spent, we reckon.
