The Arrangement has been dropped by E! after two seasons.

The US cable channel confirmed on Wednesday (May 30) that it would not order a third season of its drama series about a controversial self-help movement.

A spokesperson for E! told Deadline: "Over two seasons, E!'s scripted series The Arrangement has taken viewers inside the world of an A-list movie star filled with secrets, scandal and romance.

"While we have decided not to move forward with the series, we are incredibly grateful to the cast and our production partners."

The Arrangement aired its second season finale on May 15 on E! on the US. That will now serve as the show's swansong.

In The Arrangement, former Walking Dead star Christine Evangelista portrayed a struggling young actress named Megan Morrison West, who received an offer of $10 million to become the fiancée of top Hollywood star Kyle West (Desperate Housewives' Josh Henderson).

The series was created for E! by Emmy Award-winning writer-producer Jonathan Abrahams, a veteran of TV procedurals like Murder in the First and Haven as well as the critically-acclaimed Mad Men.

The Arrangement's cast also featured Arrow's Lexa Doig, Autumn Reeser from The OC and Alias veteran Michael Vartan as the Institute of the Higher Mind's charismatic leader Terence Anderson.

The series originally premiered on E! in the US back in the spring of 2017.
