With the arrival of new president Channing Dungey earlier this year, Agents of SHIELD ended up the only one left standing when ABC whacked Agent Carter and Marvel's Most Wanted.

Don't write off Marvel's future at ABC just yet… because Dungey hinted at the TCA press tour today (August 4) that more superhero shows could be on the way.

"There is a lot of enthusiasm figuring out what would be (the next Marvel show)," she teased. "We all came to an agreement that the next show that we want to do together is something that is as creatively strong as it can be."

ABC does seem to be investing in the future of Agents of SHIELD at least - giving it a later timeslot and more leeway for violence as the show introduces Ghost Rider.

Dungey also dropped a subtle clue at the TCA press tour that Nick Blood and Adrianne Palicki could return to SHIELD next season.

While its ABC roster is severely diminished, Marvel Studios has a bunch of other TV shows airing or in development at other networks.

Netflix, of course, is the home of the gritty interconnected Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist (as well as Punisher and Defenders still to come) - and a Cloak and Dagger series in the works at Freeform.

Whichever the network, there probably won't be a crossover of Marvel's TV shows and movies anytime soon...
