Elisabeth Moss and Kerry Washington's new thriller series Imperfect Women has confirmed a release date alongside a first look. The new Apple TV series follows the murder of a woman who seems to have it all, with two college friends subsequently investigating her death.

Described as "unconventional", the eight-episode series will premiere on the streamer on Wednesday, 18 March 2026 with two episodes, the rest of the series following each Wednesday.

A first look still has also been unveiled, showing Moss's Mary, Washington's Eleanor and Kate Mara's Nancy smiling over glasses of champagne.

Imperfect Women centres on Nancy's death, as college friends Eleanor and Mary learn of dark details that make them realise how little they knew her or themselves

The series is touted as "a mystery complicated by perspective that explores guilt and retribution, love and betrayal, and the compromises we make that alter our lives irrevocably".

"As the investigation unravels, so does the truth about how even the closest relationships can change over time," the synopsis adds.

Based on a novel by Araminta Hall, the show comes from Physical's Annie Weisman, and also stars For All Mankind's Joel Kinnaman, Ant-Man's Corey Stoll, Wildcat's Audrey Zahn and Hamilton's Leslie Odom Jr.

Moss and Washington are also on board as executive producers, the former saying previously: "From the moment I received Araminta’s novel, I couldn’t put it down. It was such an electrifying read; I fell in love with it immediately.

Washington added: "I could not have been more thrilled to get this call from Elisabeth. I have been an immense fan of hers – both as a brilliant actor and groundbreaking producer – for years."

Imperfect Women will premiere on Wednesday, 18 March 2026 with two episodes on Apple TV, with each subsequent episode following on Wednesdays.
