Taken is the latest film franchise to be turned into a TV show, with a prequel adaptation of the action movies heading to NBC for a full series.
Star Liam Neeson is not involved in the project, but the original film's writer Luc Besson created the new prequel series and is searching for a writer and showrunner.

The TV show will follow a young Bryan Mills (the character played by Neeson in the three movies) as he learns his specialist skills and is yet to start a family.
Besson is an executive producer on the series along with with Matthew Gross, Edouard de Vesinne and Thomas Anargyros.
Taken was a surprise hit when it was released in 2008. It took $226 million at the global box office and transformed Neeson into an action star.
