In a joint statement, NBC and Universal TV said: "Andrew Dettmann won't be continuing as an executive producer on Chicago Med. The network and studio value their relationship with Andy and plan to continue to work on other projects together."

Dettmann was announced as showrunner of Chicago Med in June. A replacement has not yet been named.

Colin Donnell, Oliver Platt and S. Epatha Merkerson will star in the new series, as well as Pretty Little Liars actress Torrey DeVitto and Jane the Virgin's Rachel DiPillo.

In August, actress Laurie Holden dropped out of the project due to family reasons.

Chicago Med will premiere on NBC on November 17.
