Tina Fey has promised not to go all HBO on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt in the show's second season.

The original Netflix comedy recently earned seven Emmy nominations, including an Outstanding Comedy Series nod.

Speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour today (July 28), Fey recalled how the 13 episodes had already been filmed before the show moved from NBC to Netflix.

However, Fey isn't looking at making any major changes for the next block of episodes, revealing that she has been told by many viewers that they have watched with their children.

"I would hate to ruin that in season two," she said of the family friendly approach. "I don't think you'll see any cursing or nudity. I think it does give us licence to play with time and culture - or to potentially offend an advertiser or the NFL."

Fey also revealed that Netflix has "definitely encouraged" the show's creative team to extend each episode's runtime, moving beyond the standard 21 minutes for a broadcast comedy.

Filming on the second season is set to begin next month ahead of a spring 2016 premiere.
