A first teaser for Fargo's new season has emerged online.
The clip shows a woodpecker pecking at a tree. After hearing the sound of gunshots, it pauses momentarily before continuing to peck.
The second season has been confirmed to be a prequel set in 1979, and will follow 33-year-old Lou Solverson (Patrick Wilson) returning from the Vietnam War.
Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons are playing a married couple, while Bruce Campbell will appear as former US president Ronald Reagan, who crosses paths with Lou as he is campaigning.
Nick Offerman, Ted Danson, Jean Smart, Jeffrey Donovan and Cristin Milioti will also feature.
Fargo will return to US screens in September on FX. It airs on Channel 4 in the UK.
