Motherland's Sharon Horgan is teaming up with Jennifer Aniston on a new TV series - and we're already excited.

The Morning Show and Friends star is set to play the "narcissistic" mother in the 2022 best-selling memoir I'm Glad My Mom Died, that's being adapted for AppleTV+ by Horgan.

The coming-of-age book is written by Jennette McCurdy, known for starring in Nickelodeon's teen show iCarly, and details her struggles as a former child actor while dealing with her overbearing, domineering mother.

"The dramedy will centre on the the co-dependent relationship between an 18-year-old actress in a hit kid’s show, and her narcissistic mother who relishes in her identity as 'a starlet’s mother'," teases the show synopsis.

The adaptation promises to be equal measures "heartbreaking" and "hilarious", with 10 episodes for viewers to look forward to.

No further casting details have been shared to date, but Horgan took to her Instagram Stories to share her excitement ahead of the new series.

"Finally get to share the best news," her caption began, alongside a press clipping with a photo of Jennifer Aniston announcing the show. "We can't wait to bring @jennettemccurdy genius writing to life with this genius at the helm."

McCurdy's memoir topped the New York Times best-seller list when released two years ago and remained in the number one spot for over 40 weeks.

She's signed on to write, executively produce and act as show-runner on the upcoming series, with Aniston, Horgan's Merman and Margot Robbie's LuckyChap production companies on board to executively produce.

Aniston is no stranger to leading AppleTV+ series, playing news anchor Alex Levy on The Morning Show which returns for its fourth season in September.

Meanwhile, Horgan both wrote, produced and starred in two seasons of Bad Sisters, which was another critical and commercial success for the streamer.
