Trevor Noah will officially debut as the new host of The Daily Show in September.
Comedy Central revealed the news today (May 28) that the first edition of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah will premiere on Monday, September 28.
That date will leave nearly a two-month gap from current host Jon Stewart's Daily Show finale on August 6.
Noah was officially announced as Stewart's replacement on March 30, with controversy soon arising when some deemed several of the comedian's past tweets to be sexist and anti-Semitic.
The South African comic would later explain that those tweets were not representative of his evolution as a comedian, while Stewart urged his viewers to give his successor time to prove himself as Daily Show host.
