James Franco will star in and produce the streaming service's nine-episode alternate history series.

Franco is playing a high school English teacher named Jake Epping who travels back in time to prevent the assassination of US president John F Kennedy.

His mission becomes compromised as he falls in love with a mysterious woman, while time itself strikes back against being rewritten.

Hulu has now confirmed that Dracula Untold actress Gadon has been cast as Jake's love interest Sadie for 11/22/63.

Cooper will portray the diner owner who sets Jake on his time-travelling journey, while Home and Away's Webber has been cast as JFK's assassin Lee Harvey Oswald.

The Last King of Scotland filmmaker Kevin Macdonald has joined 11/22/63 as executive producer and director for the opening episodes.

King's 2011 novel is being adapted into a limited run series by Friday Night Lights and Parenthood's Bridget Carpenter.

No premiere date has been set yet for 11/22/63.
