Michael Fassbender's The Agency has been renewed for a second season, just days after its season 1 debut.
The Paramount+ spy drama landed on the streaming service on November 29 and according to Paramount and VideoAmp data, the first episode has drawn 5.1 million viewers globally, (via Variety).
It's claimed that The Agency's success makes it Showtime's most watched new series in history.

"This achievement is a testament to the creative power of the team led by George Clooney, Jez Butterworth, Joe Wright and David Glasser and our incredible cast including Michael Fassbender, Richard Gere, Jodie Turner-Smith and Jeffrey Wright," said Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and President & CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios.
The series is an English-language remake of French political drama Le Bureau des Légendes (aka The Bureau). It follows covert CIA agent Martian (played by Fassbender), who is ordered to abandon his undercover life in America and return to London.

The Agency is executive produced by Clooney, Grant Heslov, Fassbender and Wright, who also directed the show's first two episodes. All ten episodes have been written by brothers Jez and John-Henry Butterworth.
Fassbender made his return to TV drama for the first time in over 15 years, after his huge success in films such as Shame, Prometheus and Steve Jobs.
Hugh Bonneville, John Magaro, Alex Reznik, Katherine Waterston, Andrew Brooke, Harriet Sansom Harris, India Fowler, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, and Reza Brojerdi complete The Agency's star-studded cast.
The Agency is available to stream on Paramount+.
