Netflix has released a first teaser for Stranger Things season 5.
The hit sci-fi series returns to the streaming service in 2025 with it's final season, which Netflix revealed was officially in production in September.
The new teaser reveals the episode titles and number of episodes for the upcoming season and additionally confirms the timeframe the action takes place in.

Stranger Things season 5 will consist of eight episodes in total, with their names as follows:
- The Crawl
- The Vanishing of
- The Turnbow Trap
- Sorcerer
- Shock Jock
- Escape from Camazotz - death bat or god of death
- The Bridge
- The Rightside Up
Episode two titled "The Vanishing of" certainly suggests a character is about to go missing, meanwhile episode six "Escape from Camazotz" hints that there could be more to come from the demobats - with Camazotz meaning 'death bat' in the Kʼiche' Mayan language of Guatemala.

As for the final ever episode's title, "The Rightside Up", could viewers be about to say goodbye to the Upside Down forever?
After confirming the episode titles, the teaser then reveals that Season 5 will take place in the fall of 1987 where "one last adventure begins".
This means the events of the next instalment follows not long after Season 4, which was set in March 1986 onwards.
Season 4's cliffhanger ending saw a pivotal life hanging in the balance - Max (played by Sadie Sink).
Max fell victim to the evil Vecna (Jamie Campbell-Bower) and seemed to be a goner after the final bell tock struck and his spell took her life. Or did it?
The season ends with Max in a hospital surrounded by the Hawkins gang. Though unconscious the monitors suggest some activity - though any brain activity is questionable, after Eleven entered her mind and found little going on there.
Viewers will have to wait until season 5 to learn the fate of Max and the rest of the Hawkins High kids in the final outing.
