Fresh from the conclusion of Stranger Things and ahead of her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sadie Sink has landed a major new role in an adaptation of Jeffrey Eugenides's The Marriage Plot.

As per Deadline, the limited series from FX and Hulu sees Succession writer Will Arbery adapt the 2011 novel, while Hiro Murai will direct. Both Arbery and Murai, the latter of whom is known for Widow's Bay, serve as executive producers on the project.

Eugenides's novel follows three college graduates who are caught in an obsessive love triangle as they make life-altering choices, namely regarding love and identity, while adulthood looms.

"The Marriage Plot is a perfect fit for FX: ambitious, character-driven storytelling that offers another great opportunity to partner with exceptional artists," said Gina Balian, president of FX Entertainment.

On Goodreads, the novel has been generally well received, with one reviewer calling it a "clever and heartfelt study of three people seeking love and enlightenment". Another, meanwhile, dubbed it "masterful".

What to Read Next

"[It's a] world class interpretation of young romance from college through to post grad life, by a world class writer," opined another reader, while one user was less enamoured as they called each character "hideously irritating".

Sink, meanwhile, is currently starring opposite Noah Jupe in a West End production of William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, which is running at London's Harold Pinter Theatre until 20 July.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter when the play was announced, Sink called it an "exciting challenge", adding: "I was a Broadway kid, so I've always dreamed about doing a show in the West End... London theatre has this incredible energy, and I can't wait to be a part of it."

The actor will soon be seen on the big screen in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth instalment in Marvel's superhero series. It's currently unknown who she will be playing, though some fans have hazarded a guess.

The Marriage Plot has no release date.
