By Colin Hanks has been cast in CBS pilot Life in Pieces.
The actor joins the single-camera comedy project as Greg, a man who is overwhelmed by the prospect of the birth of his first child, reports Deadline.
Hanks starred as Gus Grimly in FX drama Fargo and played the villainous Travis Marshall on Dexter.
He has also featured in NCIS, the Bad Teacher TV series, and an episode of Mom.
Life in Pieces is written by Justin Adler and executive produced by Aaron Kaplan.
Other CBS pilots include a TV sequel to Bradley Cooper film Limitless and an adaptation of Jackie Chan's Rush Hour.
