Agatha All Along the long-awaited Disney+ follow-up to WandaVision with Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) is probably Marvel's most musical entry since The Marvels and Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy.
WandaVision, which introduced us to Agatha back in 2020, had a breakout hit with 'Agatha All Along', akin to 'Toss A Coin To Your Witcher', so it makes sense that her series would embrace the "bop", as showrunner Jac Schaeffer refers to it.
Schaeffer, who wrote, directed, and executive produced the show, explained exclusively to Digital Spy: "Music was essential, really because of how thrilling the experience was on WandaVision, working with the Lopezes [songwriters duo Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez], and I wanted to work with them again. But also, because Agatha's song, 'Agatha All Along' was this breakout bop.

She continued: "So I knew going into this show it would have to have music, it took on a life of it's own. I feel calling it a musical, labels right now, hmm. It's not really a proper, traditional, musical, but there is an abundance of music and singing in it.
"It just felt necessary for her character and for the world of witchcraft, which, y'know, music, singing is a form of enchanting, it's a form of witchcraft, it's a form of casting spells, so it just felt very right for us."

Brad Winderbaum, executive producer told Digital Spy exclusively, while speaking at D23: "Jac [Schaeffer] had an idea that there was going to be a spell at the fulcrum of the entire piece that she was creating and that spell would be a song.
"So it took on a musical quality. But I think we're open to all sorts of different genres and different types of storytellers, and different types of tones, not just on television, but in the MCU, in the comics, in Marvel in general. So Agatha is in good company with how peculiar a type of story it is."
Agatha All Along has now confirmed its release schedule, while her nemesis, Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) has addressed whether she'll ever return to the MCU. Meanwhile, Disney+ has conjured up a limited-time deal on memberships for just £1.99 per month.
Agatha All Along premieres its first two episodes on Wednesday, September 18, on Disney+, with new episodes following weekly.
