FX have pulled some of their billboard ads for The Strain after a series of complaints.
The graphic poster shows a worm emerging from a woman's eye to promote the network's new horror series.
@FXTV Thanks for freaking my kids out & giving them nightmares with your idiotic #TheStrain billboards. #TryThinking pic.twitter.com/tNjO8QMXdg

The network told Buzzfeed in a statement: "We are in the process of replacing the key art for The Strain on outdoor media in several locations."
The show is based on the book trilogy by director Guillermo del Toro and author Chuck Hogan.
The 13-episode series focuses on an epidemiologist battling a parasite which threatens to turn the people of New York into monsters.
