CBS has cancelled five of its current television shows after their freshman seasons.
Among the shows axed is Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar's The Crazy Ones, which opened with solid numbers but has been in decline in recent months.
James Van Der Beek's romantic sitcom Friends With Better Lives, which premiered after the series finale of How I Met Your Mother, has also been axed after only five episodes have aired.
Also cancelled are the comedy Bad Teacher starring Ari Graynor, the Josh Holloway vehicle Intelligence, and Dylan McDermott's political thriller Hostages.
The network did renew The Mentalist for a seventh season.
It has also ordered the CSI spinoff CSI: Cyber and Matthew Perry's Odd Couple.
