The CW has given series orders to DC Comics adaptation iZombie, pregnancy drama Jane the Virgin and apocalyptic thriller The Messengers.

iZombie is the story of Gwen Dylan, a reanimated corpse who works to solve murder cases while also gaining access to human bodies.

Gwen is forced to consume human brains in order to maintain her own intelligence and gain the memories of the deceased.

The series is being produced by Veronica Mars's Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero.

The Messengers will star Diogo Morgado and Shantel VanSanten in a thriller about a group of unconnected strangers who are killed by the same energy pulse.

They are resurrected and tasked with preventing an apocalypse.

Jane the Virgin is an adaptation of a Venezuelan telenovela about a religious young woman (Gina Rodriguez) who is accidentally artificially inseminated.

The CW has also given a series order to Arrow spinoff The Flash.
