Love Island viewers have been left divided after Tommy and Tina became the latest Islanders to be dumped from the Villa, with many fans arguing the result of the latest dumping was "obvious" from the moment the final decision was revealed.

After being crowned the most popular girl and boy in the Villa, Ellie and Lorenzo were handed a huge responsibility during this Thursday's (25 June) episode. With six Islanders at risk of elimination, the pair were tasked with deciding which boy and girl would be leaving the competition.

Simba, Tommy, Aidan, Priya, Lola and Tina all found themselves vulnerable after receiving the fewest votes from the public leaving their futures in the hands of their fellow Islanders. As the group gathered around the Fire Pit, tensions were high while Ellie and Lorenzo weighed up their options.

Aware that their choice would have major consequences both inside and outside the Villa, the pair took their time before reaching a final verdict. Eventually, Lorenzo announced that Tommy and Tina would be the two Islanders leaving the Villa immediately.

The decision sparked an immediate reaction online. While some fans admitted they were sad to see the pair go, many argued that the outcome was the most predictable result available to Ellie and Lorenzo, particularly due to the friendships they've nurtured since first joining the ITV2 series.

What to Read Next

One viewer wrote: "Not surprised that Tommy and Tina went home." Another echoed: "TOMMY AND TINA GOT DUMPED???? WHAT A PLOT TWIST ((said no one))." Some viewers even referred to Chidi and Halle's recent dumping, which viewers had also slammed on social media: "Friends won’t send friends home so alas it’s just like Chidi and Halle all over again, goodbye Tina and Tommy lol."

Chidi and Halle had previously been introduced as two of four bombshells to enter the Villa in recent weeks, before being eliminated after just days. At the time, many viewers had judged the dumping "unfair" towards the new participants.

Lorenzo and Ellie's decision had emotional repercussions throughout the Villa - but it left Lorenzo in tears. During a private conversation with Sean, the hunk expressed regret over not being able to save Tommy from being eliminated.

Love Island continues this Friday (26 June) from 9pm on ITV2.
