The Traitors season four is in full swing and we're at the point where there are a number of players making their mark on the game — for better or worse. Will Matthew actually get recruited by the Traitors, or will his request come back to bite him? Is Harriet proving to be the best, most savvy, Faithful we've ever seen? And will Rachel recover from the showdown with the now-banished Fiona?
You'll no doubt have picked out your own favourites from The Traitors' fourth season cast, whether that's based on how well they are doing, or who is providing you with lashings of pure one-liner entertainment. But whether you're coming up on the side of Team Traitor or Team Faithful, let us share our expert ranking (with our credentials based on pure TV obsessiveness) of the current frequenters of the castle...
13. Jack
Jack and his earrings are bringing serious style to the castle, but he's not made much of a mark on how the game is unfolding so far...
He has got fans talking away from the show though, with a rumour that he may even have won – sparked by an engagement to his girlfriend. Some fans jumped on this because Jack said, before going on The Traitors, that he would use the hypothetical prize to "spend a bit of money taking her somewhere nice" to propose. But we feel the need to point out that there's obviously nothing to say that he wouldn't have been planning to pop the question anyway.
12. Sam
Sam really had his confidence knocked after being convinced that Judy, a Faithful, was a Traitor. As a result, he's shied away from speaking up too much about other theories – which has opened him up to suspicion.
He narrowly-avoided murder during the cage challenge, and his name still comes up quite a bit at the round table as a possible Traitor. Could he make this work in his favour?
What to Read Next
11. James
Voices quite a bit that everyone around him is a Faithful. Before the show, James also said he had an "innate ability to read people like a book" – so we're hoping to see that skill in action any day now…
James hasn't had too much heat on him for being a suspected Traitor, but he has been told that he's a "bad Faithful" – which could mean that his days are numbered.
10. Jade
Jade (and her brilliant rainbow cardigan) has been dealt a tricky hand, what with Amanda being absolutely convinced of her Traitor status (she's really not, folks) and Hugo's attempt to defend her (he really was a Traitor, folks).
Rachel announcing to the whole group that Amanda was actually a former detective only added further weight to this idea, so the accusations against Jade just won't let up. The only good thing about that, is the Traitors might be less likely to get rid of her...
9. Ellie
Having a psychologist in the game adds an interesting dynamic; her suggestion that Ross was in fact a Faithful, but was appearing suspicious because he was under pressure, was a brilliant insight (although little did we know at the time that the pair were in a relationship...).
Her promise to avenge him after his unfair banishment came to fruition when Fiona was voted out, or so she assumes, but sadly for Ellie she hasn't had much more of an influence in the game.
8. Faraaz
Another one who took some time to warm up, but we've loved seeing him getting more into the conversations at the round tables. He's also well-liked and trusted among the wider group, which can serve players well – unless the Traitors start to deem them too much of a risk to them or their influence, that is.
7. Adam
The builder from Essex is bringing some quippy one-liners, which are great from an entertainment standpoint. And his efforts to save Maz from the cage were truly inspirational, marking him out as a good Faithful too.
Adam doesn't shy away from sharing his theories around the round table either, which is a valuable asset for the group.
6. Roxy
She's proven an incredibly passionate advocate for those that she trusts (understandably, this was especially true in her defence of mum Judy), and she's not afraid to speak up – both of these things make for a strong and obvious Faithful.
It remains to be seen whether this will see her through to the end, or if the Traitors are going to turn their attention to her under the guise that she'll never be suspected as being one of them.
5. Stephen
We were pleased to see early favourite Stephen picked as a Traitor and had high hopes for him to be an integral part of the game. But, by his own admission, he went on to make a fair few mistakes – the most recent being putting himself up for murder as part of the secret task. And, quite honestly, he looks guilty AF during those round tables.
That being said, Stephen's managed to pull things back over the most-recent episodes. It was a stroke of genius to put Fiona's name down; not only did it lead to the banishment of a Traitor for the group, but it goes some way towards silencing the "library theory" as Fiona was also part of the conversation that Ross believed was responsible for framing him.
4. Matthew
We were already obsessed with his knitwear, but Matthew has really started to come to the forefront over the most recent episodes – delivering a classic Traitors cliffhanger after asking to be recruited.
It's a bold move to try and build trust with the cloaked figures who, by very definition, are supposed to bring treachery to the game, and it's unclear at this point whether it will pay off for him. But we're here for bold swings, and we'd actually love to see how he would get along with Stephen and Rachel in the turret...
3. Jessie
Not just here for her fabulous eyeshadow, Jessie has been one of the standout personalities so far this series (her muttering "here they all come to chat a load of bollocks" under her breath in the breakfast room was nothing short of iconic).
Her theory that there had to be at least one Traitor in the library in order to have framed Faithful Ross was right on the money. As a result, she had Stephen truly sussed – although now that Fiona, who was also present, has been uncloaked, Jessie could be lead to believe that she's found her library double-crosser.
2. Rachel
She always had the smarts and the potential to be a brilliant Traitor, and we've seen that in action in the past few episodes – heck, she even had an IRL former detective fooled! Rachel has cultivated popularity and influence among the Faithfuls, and seems to have been able to strike the balance between speaking up and flying under the radar just right.
Fiona threw her a curveball when she turned on her in front of everyone, but there's simply no denying that Rachel handled the situation masterfully. Not only did she keep her faux 'Faithful' status intact in the eyes of many in the group, but she made sure that Fiona was banished, simultaneously removing her competition in the turret while delivering another Traitor to appease the round table. Impressive game play, if ever we saw it.
1. Harriet
Shaping up to be one of the strongest Faithfuls we've ever seen on the show, our resident (and secret) barrister absolutely smashed it when she presented her closing argument about Hugo. Harriet's orchestration of uncloaking the group's first Traitor won her a lot of support among the others, and she's since been proving that she is one step ahead of everyone else.
Yes, Harriet is the only one to voice real suspicions of Rachel (apart from Fiona, of course, who then swiftly got sent home). Not only that, but Harriet has clocked that the dramatic showdown between them was 'Traitor against Traitor' – however she also knows that she needs to bide her time and gather enough evidence before trying to take Rachel down.
We've yet to see what Harriet's questions for the Traitors are going to be as part of the latest twist; could this be the key to Rachel's undoing, or will Harriet find herself murdered before she can topple the leading Traitor?
We're here for a Harriet versus Rachel face-off.
The Traitors airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. You can see when it's on next here.
