The Traitors returned for its fourth season with a new child-parent twist reminiscent of Ross and Diane Carson. Back in the second season, Diane and Ross were revealed to be mother and son, with the show doubling down on the secrets as Ross was among that season's Traitors.
Now on its fourth round, the beloved BBC reality show came back on Thursday (1 January) with a brand new instalment, with 22 contestants venturing to the Scottish Highlands for a shot at winning a cash prize.
While host Claudia Winkleman unveiled a new twist involving a Secret Traitor, it was revealed that we had another case of family matters after Roxy confirmed that Judy was her adoptive mother.
The twist had actually been teased - albeit accidentally - when Roxy referred to Judy as "mum" during the first challenge, though it escaped the attention of their co-stars (at least for now, perhaps).
But following the big reveal, what do we know about the mother-daughter duo?
Who are Judy and Roxy on The Traitors season 4?
Judy and Roxy are part of this season's cast, though they've been keeping their existing relationship under wraps. During the first episode, it was Roxy who revealed that Judy is her mother.
What to Read Next
"Judy seems lovely," Roxy told the cameras, defending her fellow player from accusations that she could be a Traitor. "But I'm bound to say that... considering she's my mum."
Much like Ross and Diane in the second season, the mum and daughter will aim to keep their bond a secret from the other contestants in order to avoid suspicion about a possible alliance.
However, the first challenge the group underwent proved quite tricky for Roxy, who called Judy "mum" in front of the others.
While the slip-up was clocked by most viewers at home, Judy and Roxy's co-stars didn't seem to notice. While their bond is safe for now, it may not stay a secret for long as the pressure increases.
The Traitors season 4: Judy and Roxy's bios
Judy is a child liaison officer from Doncaster who described herself as "warm and loving", adding: "I'm full of laughter, because I'm always jolly. I don't do mardy. I just want to be there for people, embrace it and enjoy it.
"I'm going to let the game unfold, make myself present, whilst obviously keeping under that radar. I won't be big and loud; I'll be myself and have fun.
"People usually gravitate towards me because they think I'm quite warm and loving, which I am, but I can have a dark side if I need to!"
32-year-old Roxy, who Judy adopted when she was four years old, is a recruiter from Amsterdam.
"Throughout my life, I've always been a very open book. I connect with different people, different cultures, and I think there's a lot to be said for that, whether you're a Faithful or a Traitor in the show – just being a genuine person," she said.
She described her empathy as "a blessing and a curse", adding that she wanted to "bring a bit of unity" to the 22-strong cast.
The Traitors airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
