The current season of Strictly Come Dancing has been beset with injuries to its celebrities, and this week looks no different. After a late twist ensured that nobody was eliminated during Blackpool week, another star from the long-running BBC series has an ailment.
It was confirmed on Saturday that La Voix had left the competition after the RuPaul's Drag Race UK star suffered an injury, with the news coming after Stefan Dennis had already withdrawn earlier in the season.
Now, after a week in which the dreaded dance-off didn't take place, Alex Kingston is the next celebrity to have an injury, with her daughter Salomé confirming via Instagram that the Doctor Who star had actually performed on Saturday with a dislocated rib.
Naturally, several viewers were left wondering if the injury could impact Alex's future participation in the series, but the actor assured fans on Sunday that it was merely a "minor injury" that wouldn't affect her too greatly.
"I just want to assure everyone that I am completely fine," said Alex, who is partnered by Johannes Radebe, on Instagram Stories. "It is a minor injury… it's all part and parcel of dancing at these levels.

"The comment was made by my concerned and loving daughter… nothing more. I will be on the dance floor as early as tomorrow morning… rehearsing. Super excited for next week! Cha Cha Cha."
The pair danced a Couple's Choice at the iconic Tower Ballroom in Blackpool on Saturday, and their routine was praised by viewers and judges alike as they were awarded 35 points out of a possible 40.
"I loved this!! This is a woman owning it, reclaiming her sense of self! This is what I wanted from Alex's couples choice. The scores were disappointing, but Alex is happy with her life and that is all I need to know!" wrote one fan on Instagram.

"Adored this dance....sentiment behind it totally resonated with me too," commented another viewer, with a third writing: "I can’t vote from here in Dublin but would love Jojo and Alex to win ♥️".
Owing to La Voix's withdrawal from the competition and the lack of an elimination at Blackpool, the scores from the weekend will be rolled over to Saturday's (29 November) show before the next elimination takes place on Sunday.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
