Celebrity Traitors spoilers follow.

The British version of Celebrity Traitors has finally arrived on our screens after what feels like an endless wait, and Claudia Winkleman's initial pushback against the idea, but thankfully the extra-long first episode wasted no time in bringing the drama.

The cast for this season, including Celia Imrie, Alan Carr, Kate Garraway, Nick Mohammed, and more, all turned up to the famous Scottish castle in their vehicles... before they were all driven away again.

They arrived at a graveyard, where everyone had their own grave with their name on it. Claudia revealed that each grave has a shield in it, and the first six to dug up their shields will be protected from the first murder.

The six to find their shields were, in order: Jonathan Ross, Joe Marler, Joe Wilkinson, Kate, Charlotte Church, and Celia (well, Nick did most of the work, which Celia did find a bit suspicious).

With that out the way, our celebs finally got to go into the castle and, more importantly, sit down with Claudia to pitch whether they want to be a Faithful or Traitor.

Finally, after walking around the Round Table countless times, Claudia selected her killers: Jonathan, Cat Burns, and Alan.

Jonathan and Cat seemed pretty stoked to be Traitors. Alan, on the other hand, not so much...

"Oh god, I feel sick. What am I gonna do?" he said in a confessional. "I have a sweating problem and I can't keep a secret."

Viewers agreed that Alan is probably going to be a rubbish Traitor and give the game away, but feel like it's going to make fantastic television.

"How can Alan Carr be expected to keep a straight face at breakfast the next morning," pondered one viewer, while another said: "Alan Carr will be rumbled sharpish".

"I have absolutely no faith in Alan Carr to be able not to give himself away," joked a third fan. A fourth said: "nah I think Cat's gonna be such a good traitor but Alan will be a dead give away", while a fifth person predicted he'd last about two episodes.

Multiple people compared Alan to Linda from season 3 earlier this year, a connection that even Alan himself made. "I'm worse than Linda. I am worse than Linda," he said.

"Making Alan Carr a Traitor has to be one of the best decisions in TV history," another fan said, while a fellow viewer said: "Most insane line-up of Traitors oh WE EATING GOOD."

Don't forget, this version of The Traitors is following a slightly different release schedule to the main show, with less episodes per week.

A second season hasn't been confirmed yet, but producers are apparently gearing up to get it underway soon, and fans are hoping one celeb rumoured for season 1 but didn't make the cast list will be included.

Celebrity Traitors airs Wednesday and Thursday nights at 9pm on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
