The Celebrity Traitors has confirmed an exciting change to its first episode, as well as dropping a brand new and chaotic first trailer for the upcoming series.

Set to launch on 8 October at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer, the UK version of the hit game show is launching its first ever celebrity series, beginning with a twist on the usual format.

The series is set to begin with an extra-long first episode, which will treat fans to 70 minutes of treachery.

Following the opener, the highly-anticipated series will air two nights a week, on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 9pm.

As well as announcing the new format, the BBC dropped the first trailer for The Celebrity Traitors, showcasing the first ever lineup of celebrity players.

Kicking off the trailer is comedian and presenter Alan Carr, who teases "maybe I have got a dark side". Next up is The Thursday Murder Club actor Celia Imrie, who can be heard saying "I'm here to win".

Author, actor and QI presenter Stephen Fry is also heard saying: "I don't know what beasts lie within me."

Per the new trailer, the celebrity contestants are seen pulling up to the Traitors castle, clearly excited to try their luck at the popular game.

In one of the tasks, which is teased in the clip, the celebrities appear to be pulling some sort of cart by long ropes.

Another exciting clip shows the celebrities at breakfast reacting to some unknown news. In the clip, historian and filmmaker David Olusoga says "that's quite a twist" while singer-songwriter Paloma Faith gasps.

Joining the aforementioned celebs for The Celebrity Traitors are stars including singer Cat Burns, BBC presenter Clare Balding, former England rugby player Joe Marler and Taskmaster star Joe Wilkinson.

Also joining them are singer Charlotte Church, presenter Jonathan Ross, presenter Kate Garraway, comedian Lucy Beaumont, actor Mark Bonnar, Ted Lasso star Nick Mohammed, content creator Niko Omilana, actor Ruth Codd, EastEnders star Tameka Empson and Olympic champion Tom Daley.

Claudia Winkleman returns to host the show and will pick a group of Traitors from among the celebrity guests as the rest take on the role of Faithfuls in a battle to win £100,000 for charity.

The Celebrity Traitors will launch on Wednesday 8th October at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
