The series has not been short of ups and downs. The first came when former The Only Way is Essex and Dancing on Ice star Joey Essex was revealed as the first "celebrity islander", with his castmates stunned by his arrival.
Another surprise occurred during last night's episode, which saw fan-favourite couple Nicole and Ciaran holding all the power.
While the Islanders enjoyed an exclusive VIP party, Maya arrived to inform the couples that a compatibility vote had taken place, with the public determining the results.

Nicole and Ciaran were the nation's favourites, with Lolly and Konnor, Grace and Reuben, and Jess and Ayo placed in the bottom three – meaning they were all at risk of elimination.
The twist wasn't done there, however, with Maya revealing that Nicole and Ciaran would have to decide which couple went home.
Last night's party was also interrupted by the arrival of two new bombshells, Lola and Harry – who will have to get grafting quickly before the final later this month.

As Love Island's summer edition comes to an end, fans can look forward to the show's All Stars series returning in 2025.
The spin-off offered a twist on the tried and tested formula, with the cast being made up of former Islanders as they seek another chance at finding love.
Following the release of the first series, which was won by Molly Smith and Tom Clare, ITV recently confirmed that the show will return next year – with filming once again taking place in South Africa.
Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
