Many Love Island fans were horrified when one of the cutest couples of the 2017 series, Marcel Somerville and Gabby Allen, split after Marcel confessed that he had cheated on his girlfriend.

At the time Marcel's rep released a statement saying: "Gabby was a special part of Marcel's life, and he hopes one day she can find it in herself to forgive him. He knows what he did was wrong and is extremely sad about how he has hurt Gabby."

And now Marcel has revealed that he and his ex are on better terms after he apologised to her in person for his actions.

"We buried the hatchet last year. That's all past now," he told The Sun. "We hugged it out afterwards. You know what, there's a lot of pressures that come with being in a public relationship. I think both of us knew it was hard.

"Things happen and you start arguing. I made a mistake. I made a mistake in the situation and I've admitted that. I'm not going to try and deny that.

"We saw each other a couple of months after and we talked, we hugged it out."

"I'm still single," he said. "I wouldn't go on Love Island again, that was a one time thing! I've been busy with my music."

Gabby is now dating X Factor winner Myles Stephenson, who claimed victory on the 2017 series of the ITV talent show with group Rak-Su.

And Marcel has made it clear that there is no bad blood between them all, saying: "Obviously, she is happy with Myles, and I'm happy that she's happy."
