Good news, The Tunnel fans. The show's third and final season is coming very soon.

As revealed by Sky Atlantic on Twitter today (November 28), the broadcaster will be making all episodes of the third crime series available from December 14.

Stephen Dillane and Clémence Poésy will also be back as DCI Karl Roebuck and French Commander Elise Wasserman, respectively.

Tis' the season for bingeing, after all.

"KARL & ELISE ARE BACK," said the tweet. "Clémence Poésy and Stephen Dillane return as our favourite French/British double act.

"All episodes 14 December."

The Tunnel was launched in 2013 as an Anglo-French adaptation of Scandinavian drama The Bridge.

Series two – titled The Tunnel: Sabotageaired in April last year and followed the show's successful first series.

That series boasted a pretty highly-esteemed ensemble cast in the form of Silent Witness star Emilia Fox, The Wire actor Clarke Peters, Shameless's William Ash and Parks and Recreation's Paul Schneider.

The third and final series will be called The Tunnel: Vengeance and will follow Karl and Elsie as a burning fishing boat found on the Channel turns into a new case.

Penned by lead writer Emilia Di Girolamo, series three will air in just six parts, whereas the previous series featured eight (Sabotage) and ten episodes (The Tunnel) respectively.

The Tunnel: Vengeance is available from December 14 on Sky Atlantic.
