Eamonn Holmes has revealed he is focusing on "making a full recovery" after suffering a stroke earlier this year. The presenter was hospitalised back in April, and has been recovering since.
The star has now given an update, sharing a statement in the wake of the TRIC Awards last night, where his channel GB News took home a win in the News category.
"I'd just like to say a huge thank you to all the viewers who took the time and trouble to vote," he said (via Nick Owens), calling it "unbelievable".
"I'd dearly wished I could have been there to celebrate with the team, but for now my focus has to be on making a full recovery and getting back to my best."
Holmes's colleague Anne Diamond also paid tribute to him on stage at the awards, saying (via Evening Standard): "There are a couple of people who would love to be here but can’t for various reasons.
"Stephen Dixon who is my weekend co-presenter and Eamonn Holmes, who you know is not very well at the moment. But he’s doing well. He’s recovering and we’re all hoping he’ll be back very soon."

Following the stroke, Holmes gave an update on Instagram in April, sharing a picture of his granddaughters holding a 'get well soon' message.
"As my beautiful Granddaughters put it so well - I will do my best to get well SOOM," he wrote. "Thank you for all of your many many good wishes, they give me strength."
His son Declan also gave an update the same month, thanking fans by saying they "hugely appreciate all the messages" as it "means a lot to us as a family".
"What happened came as a real shock, but Dad is doing okay given the circumstances and we're taking it one step at a time," he added in the statement. "For now, we're focused on him and keeping things steady around him."
Among last night's big TRIC winners were shows including The Celebrity Traitors, Emmerdale, Adolescence and Clarkson's Farm.
