Catastrophe star Rob Delaney has admitted that writers and stars of the Channel 4 programme haven't even started thinking about series 5 yet.
Although the show is getting a fourth series, Rob told Radio Times: "We sort of think of our spiritual forbear as the Before Sunrise, Before Sunset films.
"They rather beautifully dip in once every ten years on this couple, and that's an amazing way to tell a story. That's not out of the question; [it] wouldn't be a crazy way to do it."
When asked if that means we may eventually see Sharon and Rob as elderly residents in a care home, Rob joked: "That's not out of the question, it's a very funny idea."
"We would have to be estranged from our kids to go down that route," Sharon Horgan added. "That gives me the heebies.
"We're not teenagers and the only teenagers' problems are my own daughter's and I am not going to put her life on screen."
What to Read Next
Catastrophe ended its third series last night (April 4), marking the last appearance of the late Carrie Fisher on the sitcom.
As expected, the show ended with an in memoriam 'For Carrie' tribute during the closing credits, after a rather fitting farewell episode.
The ending also took a dramatic turn as recovering alcoholic Rob crashed his car after driving drunk, before admitting to Sharon he wouldn't pass a breathalyser test.
Catastrophe is returning for season 4, but we don't know when. Sorry.
