Oh boo: Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe won't be back this month, a spokesperson has confirmed.

We were warming up for some more acerbic commentary on current affairs from Charlie after his excellent 2015 Wipe the other day - but it's not going to happen.

After reports online that Weekly Wipe wouldn't be back in January, Digital Spy reached out to the show's spokesperson, who confirmed the rubbish news.

"There won't be a Weekly Wipe this month but we are in close discussions with the BBC about forthcoming series," the rep said.

We did ask if there would be a Weekly Wipe later in the year - maybe just not in January - but there's no news on that.

So, we'll be missing out on Charlie's take on everything from the Celebrity Big Brother return to Making a Murderer and all the bizarre happenings in Westminster.
