As the 2026 World Cup heads towards the quarter-finals, a new short film about the power of football has been released, featuring David Beckham flexing his acting muscles as he plays... David Beckham.
Titled 'Street of Dreams' and soundtracked by a brand-new U2 song of the same name, the film tells the story of a young girl whose home is destroyed in a fire. She then shuts herself from the people around her.
But, through some words of encouragement from her sporting hero (who appears as a figment of her imagination), she decides to get involved with the local kids playing footie and start making friends again.

The short film is a promo for the Bank of America and its initiatives Soccer at Schools and Sports with Us, for which Beckham is a global ambassador. The bank says its goal is to make the sport more accessible to young people and support them with socialising and life skills.
"Football has given me opportunities I could never have imagined, but none of it would have been possible without people who believed in me along the way," Beckham said.

"Through my work with Bank of America and Street Child United, I've had the privilege of meeting incredible young people from around the world who have overcome unimaginable challenges with courage, resilience and hope. Their stories stay with you. That's why this campaign is so important."
The retired footballer continued: "By supporting Street Child United and shining a light on its mission, we're helping more young people be seen, heard and given the opportunity to build brighter futures. Sport has the power to create confidence, connection and possibility, but every young person also needs someone who believes in them.
