Looking for a good "twisty" weekend binge-watch? Well, Danish thriller Suplex may be just up your street. The series was first released in 2023, and takes its name from the wrestling move.
The story takes place in the "idyllic town" of Vesterløv, where "a young wrestler's brutal murder shatters the community".
"Coach Lars becomes the prime suspect, while his wife Charlotte is entangled in an affair with the investigating police chief," the synopsis adds. "As buried secrets surface, trust erodes, and the town spirals into a gripping mystery where everyone has something to hide."

Suplex is streaming on Channel 4 as of today via the Walter Presents label, and at only four episodes is perfect to race through over the weekend.
The show's cast includes Jakob Cedergren, Josephine Park, Jacob Lohmann, Joen Højerslev, Ella Testa Kusk and Zaki Nobel Mehabil, while the series is written by Adam August, Christian Bengtson and Jens Dahl.

Over on IMDb, one viewer called Suplex "realistic and tense" and a "great" Nordic crime drama, adding: "I love that it takes place in a smaller town and shows a series of characters that seem believable and relatable. It gives the whole story a realism that works incredibly well for exactly a crime story."
"More of a drama than a thriller, Josephine Park's excellent performance grounds the show," added another. "The killer's identity and motive made sense to me, and the ending was moving on several fronts - I only wish they'd translated the title exactly."
Meanwhile, site Nordic Watchlist wrote that Suplex "combines an intriguing mystery with strong character work and an oppressive atmosphere that lingers long after the credits roll".
"Fans of Danish drama and Nordic thrillers will find plenty to enjoy in this latest Walter Presents acquisition," they added in their review.
Walter Presents is constantly dropping new offerings on Channel 4, the collection most-recently releasing German thriller The Marnow Murders, which follows two detectives in the city of Schwerin solving crimes.
