Prime Video is set to launch a new action comedy series starring Ray Winstone. Directed by Black Mirror's Carl Tibbetts and written by Semi-Detached's David Crow and Oliver Maltman, Danger Money has been described as "brilliant" and "high-octane", telling the story of a former SAS operative haunted by a botched mission in the '90s that left his best friend dead.
Winstone will star as the former SAS agent, Alan ‘Razor’ Sharp, who, decades later, while trying to rebuild his reputation and relationship with his daughter, is pulled back into this world when a familiar face resurfaces.
A synopsis continues: "Reluctantly drawn into one last job, Razor travels to Italy, only for events to spiral. Forced on the run with a motley crew made up of his impulsive ‘nephew’ Jamaal and secretive tag-along Roxy, he is thrust into a violent conspiracy involving hidden war spoils, corrupt institutions, and powerful enemies determined to keep the past buried.

"As Razor fights to clear his name and protect those closest to him, he must confront the truth behind the mission that destroyed his life. Because the money isn’t the only thing waiting to be uncovered."
Danger Money will be available to Prime Video subscribers in the UK and Ireland, with production set to begin later this year.

Speaking about his "challenging" role, Winstone explained what attracted him to the script.
"They told me the character was a bit of a scrapper, surly, and getting on a bit. I told them it doesn’t ring any bells, but I like a challenge," he said.
"In all seriousness, it’s everything that I love because beneath the action, laughs, and the hardman antics, there’s a lot of heart, soul, and depth to this script as any great characters and shows have."
Danger Money will be produced by Two Brothers Pictures, with managing directors Jack and Harry Williams saying in a statement: "David and Oliver have conjured up something brilliant in Danger Money. We’re so excited to bring it to the screen with Prime Video and the legend that is Ray Winstone."
Writers and creators David Crow and Oliver Maltman added: "We’re thrilled to be bringing Danger Money to Amazon audiences, with screen icon Ray Winstone as the unforgettable Razor Sharp - a new breed of hero, whose Special Forces training and thirst for justice is somewhat hampered by his soaring blood pressure and sciatic spasms.
"We couldn’t think of a better home for the show or a more perfect team than Two Brothers to bring it to life."
Danger Money will air on Prime Video.
