The final instalment in a "gritty" period crime drama series is leaving Netflix soon. Released in 2009, Red Riding: 1983 stars Sean Bean, Andrew Garfield, Daniel Mays, David Morrissey, and Mark Addy.
In the series, lawyer John Piggott (Addy) is asked to re-examine the conviction of a disabled man, Michael Myshkin (Mays), who confessed to a series of murders 10 years earlier, when another young girl goes missing.
The man now claims he confessed under intense police pressure. As Piggott investigates, Detective Jobson (Morrissey) begins to question whether he could have convicted the wrong man.

It is the third instalment in the limited series, following Red Riding 1974 and Red Riding 1980, all set against the backdrop of the Yorkshire Ripper killings.
Though its two prequels will remain, Red Riding: 1983 will be available on Netflix UK until 17 July, at which point, it will leave the service.

In their review, the Austin Chronicle said: "There's still a great deal of satisfaction to be had in both the resolution of the plot's many mysteries and the thematic throughlines of the three films."
Detroit News added: "Stands as a wrenching tale of power abused and lives discarded. It is powerful stuff."
Deep Focus Review wrote: "An extremely satisfying conclusion to a monumental series of films that in sum will reward audiences willing to confront the otherwise harsh, unforgiving material."
From the Front Row said: "Beautifully filmed, and is more satisfying in its connection to the first film, providing much-needed closure to a series marked by its stubborn refusal to offer any such comforting affectations."
Meanwhile, Times-Picayune praised: "Like the overall trilogy, it's as haunting as it is riveting, the kind of movie that will keep your attention while it's playing, and stick with you after the closing credits."
