Ahead of the premiere of I Kissed a Girl's second and sadly final season tomorrow, you might want to check out The Imposter, an Australian drama from last year starring Home and Away actor turned dance-pop diva turned The X Factor judge turned presenter Dannii Minogue.

The four-episode miniseries focuses on a family matriarch who is fighting with her children over whether or not to sell their seaside motel, when a woman turns out of the blue with a shocking claim.

Created by Neighbours boss Jason Herbison, the thriller starred Dannii alongside Coronation Street and Waterloo Road's Kym Marsh and Aussie soap royalty Jackie Woodburne.

The show aired on 5 (formerly Channel 5) just before Christmas last year, and is still available on the broadcaster's streaming service, popping up commonly in the 'Must-Watch Drama' and 'Binge in a Day' categories.

The show aired across four days, and had viewers invested in its central mystery (which we won't spoil here), although people did note that Dannii doesn't actually turn up in the first two episodes.

What to Read Next

Meanwhile, if you want to know who will be taking part in I Kissed a Girl season 2, the cast list has been officially confirmed — but which of the girls will find love in the masseria?

While the return of the UK's first LGBTQ+ dating show is exciting news, it's also bittersweet. As mentioned above, the show and its male equivalent I Kissed a Boy have been cancelled, with this season being the final entry in the franchise.

The BBC stated the decision was made due to "difficult choices in light of our funding challenges", and in Digital Spy's reaction, we wrote: "a public service broadcaster like the BBC has a responsibility to fund shows that support marginalised people in the UK... it's worrying that other networks might look to what happened here as guidance on how to approach future queer shows."

Dannii herself said: "I’m so proud the show has given us the chance to celebrate so many people from the LGBTQ+ community, who made up our cast.

"The integrity and intention of why it was created, along with the love and care from the crew and production over the four seasons, has made it the most special experience for me in almost 40 years of television."

The Imposter is available to stream now on 5, while I Kissed a Girl season 2 premieres tomorrow on BBC Three and iPlayer.
