BBC smash hit Line of Duty has landed a new streaming home in the UK. The first five seasons of the crime drama are now available to stream on Disney+ with a subscription.

Line of Duty first aired in 2012 and was an instant hit, with a second season following in 2014. Season six aired in 2021, with the show's long-awaited seventh season set to air next year.

The series comes from the mind of Jed Mercurio, who also wrote 2018 miniseries Bodyguard, starring Richard Madden and Keeley Hawes.

Line of Duty's cast is led by Adrian Dunbar, Martin Compston and Vicky McClure. It centers on the work of anti-corruption unit AC-12, led by Superintendent Ted Hastings (Dunbar).

Throughout the seasons, Hastings and his team work to uncover links between the police and organised crime, as well as other dodgy dealings.

Big name guest stars over the six seasons include Stephen Graham, Keeley Hawes, Thandiwe Newton, Anna Maxwell Martin and Mark Bonnar.

The series is one of the most acclaimed British dramas of the past decade, with Digital Spy calling it "a series that's almost perfection".

During its run the series picked up numerous BAFA TV nominations and landed an NTA award for Best Returning Drama in 2021.

Line of Duty fans were delighted last November when it was confirmed to be returning for a seventh season.

Martin Compston, Vicky McClure, Adrian Dunbar, and Mark Bonnar have all been confirmed as returning alongside some new castmembers.

Robert Carlyle will be joining the series as Detective Constable Shaun Massie, a Specialist Rifle Officer (SRO) operating with the Tactical Operations Unit 7 (TO-7) to take down organised crime groups.

Sanditon's Tom Weston-Jones, will also join the show as Detective Inspector Dominic Gough, the Tactical Operations Unit 7 (TO-7)'s leader, who will play a key role in the new season.

Per the BBC, the synopsis for season 7 reads: "AC-12 has been disbanded and rebranded the Inspectorate of Police Standards. Anticorruption work has never been more difficult and in this challenging climate Steve Arnott (Compston), Kate Fleming (McClure) and Ted Hastings (Dunbar) are assigned their most sensitive case so far.

"Gough is accused of abusing his position of trust to act as a sexual predator. But is his case a deliberate distraction from a bigger threat still operating in the shadows?"

Line of Duty seasons 1-5 are now streaming on Disney+.
