The cast of Tip Toe have shared their reactions to the acclaimed drama getting a North American broadcaster. The Russell T Davies series debuted in the UK a few weeks ago, and follows the increasingly fractious relationship between two Manchester neighbours.

The story centres on Leo (Alan Cumming), the gay owner of a bar in Canal Street, and Clive (David Morrissey), a straight electrician, as the latter's increasing homophobia driven by anti-LGBTQ+ online rhetoric starts to have dire consequences.

Tip Toe wrapped its five episode run on Channel 4 last week, and in the wake of its success it has been confirmed that it will air on Starz across the pond.

Tip Toe drew huge acclaim in the UK, with Digital Spy awarding it five stars in our review, saying it "stands alone, a defiant, urgent, and absolutely necessary piece of television that has managed to encapsulate this very specific moment in time".

"That it's airing now, at the start of Pride month, only adds to its cultural significance," we added.

The show attracted a wider 90% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 10 reviews, Empire writing in another rave five-star review that it "practically stomps in, boldly calling for history to not repeat itself" and that Davies has created "another landmark show that captures the queer zeitgeist".

"Tip Toe isn’t just sobering; it’s visceral and chilling viewing for all queer people and everyone who loves and supports us," added Radio Times.

Tip Toe airs on Channel 4 in the UK. The show will debut on Starz in the US.
