Disney has announced the release date for a new crime series fronted by Shameless star Emmy Rossum. Titled Furious, the upcoming show stars Rossum as an FBI agent on a hunt for a female serial killer as their lives become intertwined.
Hailing from creator and executive producer Elizabeth Meriwether (New Girl, Dying for Sex), the series has released some first-look images of Rossum, who also serves as executive producer, as FBI agent Alice Black.
The newly released images also feature the extended cast, with Lola Petticrew playing the still unnamed serial killer and Scoot McNairy portraying Alice's FBI partner. Quincy Tyler Bernstine and Jake Lacy also star in undisclosed roles.

The series is set to premiere on Hulu in the US and Disney+ internationally on 27 July, with the first three episodes dropping at once and followed by new episodes weekly.
The synopsis teases that Alice crosses paths with "a mysterious and calculating female serial killer" played by Petticrew.

Also coming to Disney+ is the sixth season of cosy murder mystery Only Murders in the Building, which is currently filming in the UK. The series has just announced some new names starring opposite Martin Short, Steve Martin and Selena Gomez as protagonists Oliver, Charles and Mabel as they take their investigation this side of the pond.
The trio visit London to get insights on the death of fellow podcaster Cinda Canning (Tina Fey), who died at the Arconia at the end of season 5. Cinda was investigating a red-haired woman accused of the murder of a royal descendant in the capital.
The main stars are to be joined by Jennifer Saunders, Bridgerton's Simone Ashley, Bad Sisters star Sharon Horgan, as well as Willow's Amar Chadha-Patel, Heartstopper's Rhea Norwood, and The Imitation Game's Matthew Beard.
Furious premieres with three episodes on Disney+ and Hulu on 27 July.
