If crime thrillers are your thing, then it's worth checking out newly-added Bulgarian series The Devil's Throat. Described as "mysterious", the show was originally released back in 2019.

Now available on Channel 4 via the Walter Presents label, the drama takes place in a sleepy town in the Rhodope mountains, as "a cop and a security agent must follow a dark and twisted path to find a killer".

"At the height of the refugee crisis in Bulgaria, a competent DANS employee and an ambitious local investigator are investigating the murder of a retired police officer in the border town of Smolyan," the synopsis adds.

"The show starts a bit like Twin Peaks and then evolves into a crime thriller. Quite original and it doesn't get boring. Still watching so we'll see …," a third said.

A fourth added: "I'd certainly recommend this to fans of murder mysteries looking for something from somewhere new."

"The show grabbed my attention, managed to make me feel for the characters, be invested in the story and actually managed to surprise me! If that doesn't qualify it as great, I don't know what does," another said.
