Rylan Clark has admitted to feeling nervous ahead of his appearance on The Assembly, which airs on Sunday (24 May). Despite the nerves, the presenter, best known for Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two and This Morning, said it was his "favourite" ever interview.
The ITV series sees British celebrities interviewed by people with autism and other forms of neurodivergence, with the participants for the second season including Stephen Fry and Anna Maxwell Martin in addition to Rylan.
Speaking ahead of the airing of his episode, Rylan shared that he felt some nerves ahead of the interview, recalling: "I thought I knew what I was walking into, and then about five seconds before I went in, my stomach went."

"In the lift I was like: 'What are they going to ask me?' I actually think you can ask me anything you want now. I think we're all mates," he added. "Talking about my past gave me that weird stomach feeling because they are things I don't think about anymore."
While some questions proved difficult to answer, Rylan explained that the breadth of topics covered was refreshing, with the presenter quipping: "It is no different to the feeling of the ride I've had for the past 14 years."

He further noted that everybody's relationship with "vulnerability" meant they were all in the "same boat", with the presenter describing it as his "favourite interview" from his long career.
"Being on The Assembly has been such a gift," he explained. "Just meeting these amazing people and having no filter for a couple of hours was just lovely. This was the perfect escape from the real world."

The logline for the episode, which airs at 10pm on ITV1, reads: "Rylan faces the grilling of a lifetime from a cast of neurodivergent interviewers. From cancelled celebrity friends to the contents of his bedside table, nothing is off limits."
Rylan is the final celebrity to be interviewed in the second season, which also includes Nicola Sturgeon, Lenny Henry and Aitch. A special episode, which features unseen elements from the previous parts, will air on 31 May.
The Assembly continues Sunday 24 May at 10pm on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
