In you're in the mood for some absolute trash that isn't Christmas-themed, ITV has added the show The Hunting Wives to its ITVX streaming service. As the synopsis reads, the show is about "sex, secrets, and gun-slinging huns".
Premiering earlier this year in the US, the show follows a woman named Sophie (played by Brittany Snow) who moves to a fictional Texas town after accidentally killing someone in her car.
There, she catches the attention of a socialite named Margo (Billions' Malin Akerman) and gets drawn into a dangerous world of obsession and murder.
The cast also includes Secret Invasion and Shameless US' Dermot Mulroney, This Is Us' Chrissy Metz, Somebody I Used to Know's Evan Jonigkeit, and Inventing Anna's Katie Lowes.
All eight episodes of season 1 are available on ITVX, while the show has been renewed for a second season.

The show has a very respectable 76% positive score from 26 critic reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, with NPR writing: "It's silly, it's raunchy, it's high drama. But if it's up your alley, you might find it a pretty well-executed bit of summer entertainment."
"It isn't classy or classic," wrote Mac the Movie Guy, "but The Hunting Wives knows exactly which buttons to push to get its audience aroused enough to stick around for a solid whodunit."
"With plenty of down-low sex and twists that lean either soap opera or murder mystery, this series is enjoyable trashy fun," Common Sense Media said, echoed by ArtsATL stating: "Me-oh-my, the trashiness of it all is fun for most of the way."

"The Hunting Wives is a show you know is going to be ridiculous going in, and it doesn’t try to hide its sexy, at times campy personality under the sheen of a prestige drama," said Decider.
"The Hunting Wives dives into small-town chaos, creating a juicy nighttime drama worth staying home to binge-watch on a weekend," reads the VisAble Blackwoman blog.
The Hunting Wives is available to stream now on ITVX.
