Sally Lindsay's cosy crime series The Madame Blanc Mysteries has confirmed its Christmas special air date. The show is due to return soon for the festive episode – which will be feature-length.
5 has now revealed that it will broadcast on 23 December (aka Christmas Eve Eve) at 8pm, running at two hours – so make sure you tuck in for the evening.
The special will put Lindsay's character Jean White and co against the clock in a "very extraordinary situation".
During the Christmas Eve event at the Musée de Sainte Victoire, Jean is "invited to authenticate a newly acquired treasure – a rare Ormolu box once owned by Marie Antoinette".
However, when she finds an explosive inside with 90 minutes to spare, the museum is put on lockdown, and "Jean and the gang must crack the code and defuse the bomb before time runs out".

Speaking previously about the episode, Lindsay said: "It is a very ambitious concept, but we are beyond thrilled with how it has come out. In fact, I actually cannot wait for all our wonderful fans to watch it. A very Merry Christmas from all of us in Ste. Victoire."
As well as the return of regulars such as Alex Gaumond, Sue Vincent and Tony Robinson, the episode will also welcome Cold Feet star John Thomson, EastEnders' Kacey Ainsworth and Raji James, and Trigger Point's Manjinder Virk to the cast.
The Madame Blanc Mysteries has become a fan favourite since its debut in 2021, one viewer on IMDb calling it a "delightfully quirky" series.
"It's lighthearted, enjoyable entertainment that doesn't require apt attention or puzzling over whodunnit. Good change of pace," they wrote.
Another labelled the show "an enjoyable watch", adding: "This is as well written, filmed and acted as any formulaic detective series on TV these days... and in the hands of seasoned actors like these, better than some."
The Madame Blanc Mysteries will return for a Christmas special on 23 December at 8pm on 5. Seasons 1-4 are available to stream on 5, while seasons 1-3 are also streaming on Netflix.
