With Slow Horses' fifth season finale now out in the world, the wait for season six is going to feel extremely long. Gary Oldman fans who are based in the UK need not worry, though, as the actor is dusting off one of his critically-acclaimed projects for a new outing very soon.

Earlier this year, he performed in the one-man Krapp's Last Tape at York Theatre Royal, picking up strong reviews.

For anyone who missed it, you're in luck: it has now been confirmed for a London staging in 2026.

Revealed as part of the Royal Court's new season, the show doesn't just star Oldman - it's also directed by him.

It'll be performed from Friday 8 to Saturday 30 May 2026 in the Sloane Square venue, with tickets on sale to the general public next Tuesday, 4 November.

What to Read Next

"On his 69th birthday, a man sits alone and listens to the echoes of his younger self," an official synopsis reads.

At every show, the play will be preceded with a Beckett-inspired short play by Leo Simpe-Asante called Godot’s To-Do List.

Oldman, who last performed at the Royal Court 39 years ago, said in a statement: “I'm very excited to be returning to the Royal Court with Krapp's Last Tape and to share the stage with Leo's wonderful play Godot’s To Do-List. I'm very honoured and proud to be a part of it.”

In reviews this year, The Guardian said: "What could have been a disastrous vanity project is a startling piece of theatre, arresting and emotional, up there with the best of the modern day Krapps."

Whatsonstage, meanwhile, complimented the actor for performing with "total conviction".

Fans of Oldman who either can't get to London or simply can't wait until next year will be pleased to hear that one of his best movies has landed a new UK streaming home.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, released in 2011, also stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hardy, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Stephen Graham, Kathy Burke and John Hurt, and it's now on BBC iPlayer as well as Prime Video.

As for Slow Horses, the Apple TV+ smash has been renewed for a sixth and seventh series. The sixth will be based on the Mick Herron novels Joe Country and Slough House, while season seven will take its cues from Bad Actors.

Seasons 1-5 of Slow Horses are available to stream on Apple TV+. A release date for season 6 has yet to be announced.

Krapp's Last Tape plays at London's Royal Court Theatre in May 2026. Tickets will be available here from November 4.
