Steven Knight's 1980s Birmingham-set drama This Town has been cancelled after one season.
Premiering in March 2024, the six-parter was penned by the Peaky Blinders creator and directed by Paul Whittington. It follows a group of friends navigating the rich 1980s music scene in Birmingham and Coventry against the backdrop of riots and violence erupting in the West Midlands.
The series has reportedly been axed after just one season due to low ratings.
"We're hugely grateful to Steven Knight, Kudos and the cast and crew for bringing This Town to life – in no small part due to Steven's passion for the West Midlands," a BBC spokesperson said.
"We look forward to working with him on new projects in the future and we're in talks about what's next."

The cast is led by Levi Brown, Jordan Bolger, Ben Rose, and Eve Austin, with Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery playing Estella and Nicholas Pinnock as Deuce Williams.
This Town has a meagre 67% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, with Digital Spy's review calling it "stuffed".
Elsewhere, The Times also highlighted how the series' multiple subplots could cost it some fans, writing: "It's a lot to handle, and some viewers are going to lose patience while it finds its feet..."
Despite the cancellation of This Town, Knight has his hands full with a host of new projects, including writing the script of the new James Bond movie that's set to be directed by Dune's Denis Villeneuve.

"I'm hoping that, being a Bond fan for so many years, it will be imbued into me and I will be able to produce something that's the same but different, better, stronger and bolder," Knight said during an appearance on the BBC Five Live Breakfast show last week.
The award-winning screenwriter, whose recent credits include The Veil and A Thousand Blows, will also continue the Peaky Blinders saga with hotly-anticipated movie The Immortal Man, with Cillian Murphy reprising the role of Tommy Shelby.
