Former Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi was branded "the coolest person to ever exist" following a surprise appearance at Glastonbury Festival.
The actor, who played the 12th incarnation of the iconic Time Lord between 2013 and 2017, took to the Other Stage on Friday (27 June) as a special guest of Scottish band Franz Ferdinand.
"You may have heard this rumour that a fellow Glaswegian is coming down to Glastonbury today. A certain Italian-heritage Glaswegian who goes by the name of Capaldi," teased band frontman Alex Kapranos.
"Well Glastonbury, it gives me great joy to say that these rumours are true. He's with us tonight, the original Capaldi," he continued, with the actor soon joining the band on stage to perform their signature song, 'Take Me Out'.
The surprise guest appearance was widely praised by fans of the actor and the festival, with one enthusiastic viewer remarking on X: "Peter Capaldi kinda the coolest person to ever exist actually."
