Jason Watkins has applauded ITV for having the courage to tackle The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies.
The actor played Jefferies in the true-life drama, about a retired schoolteacher vilified by the press after being falsely accused of murder.
Watkins told Digital Spy that ITV deserved credit for airing a piece of drama that was "not necessarily mainstream" in a primetime slot.

The star was named best Leading Actor at last night's BAFTAs, trumping Sherlock's Benedict Cumberbatch, Marvellous star Toby Jones and The Missing's James Nesbitt.
The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies was also crowned best Mini-Series, beating out Cilla, Our World War and Prey.
