Taskmaster returns for a brand-new season tonight, and one of the new contestants has teased that we'll see him do something that he "might regret for the rest of my life".

Greg Davies and Alex Horne are back for a 19th main season, with five new comedians ready to be put through their paces and make themselves look like fools in the quest for points.

The cast includes Fatiha El-Ghorri, Jason Mantzoukas, Mathew Baynton, Rosie Ramsey, and Stevie Martin.

Ahead of the first episode's premiere on Channel 4, Baynton spoke to Metro and teased that he may never be able to live down some of what he gets up to.

"I did something it's fair to say I might regret for the rest of my life," the Ghosts star said.

"The bizarre thing about that is that no one is telling you what to do, it's your decision. So I was the maker of my own misfortune in that sense.

"It's like you just go into this strange mental space, and all you're thinking about is the task, and you're being forced to make decisions quite quickly, and you just do it and throw yourself into it.

"It's only when you’re in the car on the way home that you think, 'Oh shit, that's going on TV, that’s going to last forever'."

Baynton also explained he had a "momentary wobble" before signing up for the season, saying that "you're there to be made fun of, and you have to be open that".

The star shared that he has previously turned down appearing on panel shows because he was "really nervous about being myself", but decided to do Taskmaster as he was a fan.

"You’re not under pressure to be funny," he added. "It’s really just about submitting to it, being really open, and just trying to do whatever insane things you’re being asked to do, and it just looked like so much fun."

Taskmaster airs season 21 on Thursdays at 9pm on Channel 4, and streams on the Channel 4 website/app.
