Doctor Who stars Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper are set to return to the Whoniverse for more adventures as the Ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler.
The duo’s return marks the 20-year anniversary of ‘New Who’, as the beloved BBC sci-fi series was re-launched in 2005.
Eccleston and Piper will make their Doctor Who comeback in August 2025 for a brand-new series of audio drama from Big Finish, and now, new details about the first episode have been revealed.
The new series will consist of 12 new stories, all set within the timeline of the TV series, between the events of the episodes Father’s Day and The Empty Child.
Entitled Snare, the first episode in the series will also feature Camille Coduri as Rose’s mum Jackie Tyler as the TARDIS team return to the Powell Estate.

The episode is written by Tim Foley, who says the Ninth Doctor and Rose are "incredibly special" to him.
"Wherever you are on the globe, you will surely have heard my whoops of joy when I was asked to write for this new series," he enthused. "It’s great to kick things off with Snare, a character-driven opener back on the Powell Estate.
"We’re picking up right after Father’s Day, where the family drama from that story continues to make ripples.
"You’ll meet one of Rose’s old friends, Kevin, and learn what secrets are being hidden in his dad’s old flat. You’ll also encounter Jackie Tyler’s cooking, so stay strong."

Previously sharing her excitement to return to Doctor Who alongside Eccleston, Piper said: "Twenty years after [Rose] first ran into the TARDIS and towards adventure, here we are again, me and Chris, ready to have fun facing the universe – and the monsters – together."
Set for release in August, the new audio adventures are available to pre-order now from Big Finish.
Fans can purchase the upcoming episode or the whole series digitally or in a digital and collector's edition CD bundle.
